The afterlife:

Many questions people have about the afterlife have to do with wanting to know if their loved ones who have crossed over are okay.

Those seeking answers tend to look for signs from their loved ones in their daily life or seek out mediums to contact them. In all cases the messages are cryptic or vague in general, with some key insights that ring true to the person seeking a message.

Mediums will tell you that they have to decipher the messages given to them by spirits because the messages are often limited and disorganized. Why is this so? Well, imagine a case in which you lose a loved one and when you ask to know how they are doing, you are given full contact to them in the afterlife. If given full access, you would be able to see and feel the immense amount of love and joy in the place they now exist in, and thus, living out your life in this reality would become nearly impossible. You would long to escape the pain and hardships of this world to be with them in this divine place, existing in pure love.

This is when you must have faith and understand that continually seeking out information about how they are doing will only distract and distance you from the little signs and messages they leave for you. Being the essence of pure love, they understand that you need love and support, but they also understand when you are no longer living your life because you are too distracted by grief and preoccupied with seeking answers. They know that continual contact from them will only bring more grief for you in the long run.

Process as you must but keep moving forward my friends. Know that your loved ones are at peace, happy and in no more pain. They are closer to you and watch over you, always giving you unconditional love. Have faith and let your mind be still, remember the joy of their lives and you will soon feel them around you.

Living life with no regrets is easier then you may first think. The key isn’t to never make a mistake or to tiptoe through life in an attempt to not disturb anyone around you. The secret is to treat yourself with full compassion and forgiveness. The next time you recall an incident where you believe you didn’t make the best choices and you start to feel regret, consider this: In every single moment of your life, you have done everything you could have at that moment in time. In that moment you did what you thought right. You did what you were physically or emotionally strong enough to do. You did what you knew, what you were taught, what you were told. You did what you did, even if it was wrong. But it is not fair, and downright cruel, to constantly think back and say “what was I thinking?” “Why didn’t I just do this?” “Why did I do that?” You did what you could at the time. Instead of questioning yourself over and over again, forgive your past self and say out loud “I did what I could at the time because I didn’t know better and I will no longer judge myself.” We cannot judge ourselves with the knowledge we have now which we lacked then. Things are always clearer in retrospect because we have the full story, but in the moment we usually only have a small part of the story and base our decision off of half-truths and emotional attachments. Don’t regret your past, learn from it and allow others to learn from you by being open and sharing your struggles. Embrace yourself with love and compassion. Forgive yourself and let go. The personal emotional freedom you will gain from doing this is so great and brings so much joy. Live life with no regrets!

La próxima vez que te acuerdas de un incidente en el que usted cree que no tomo las mejores decisiones y usted comienza a sentir pena, considera lo siguiente: En cada momento de tu vida, que has hecho todo lo que pueda tener en ese momento en el tiempo . En ese momento hiciste lo que creías correcto. Hiciste lo que estaba físicamente o emocionalmente lo suficientemente fuerte para hacerlo . Usted hizo lo que sabía , lo que te enseñaron , lo que le dijeron . Hiciste lo que hiciste, aunque fuera mal. Pero no es justo, y francamente cruel , pensar constantemente atrás y decir ” ¿qué estaba pensando ? ” ” ¿Por qué no acabo de hacer esto? ” ” ¿Por qué hice eso? ” Usted hizo lo que pudo en el momento . En lugar de cuestionar a sí mismo una y otra vez , perdonar a su propio pasado y decir en voz alta “Hice lo que pude en ese momento porque no sabía mejor y ya no voy a juzgar a mí mismo. ” No podemos juzgar a nosotros mismos con el conocimiento que tenemos ahora que nos faltó entonces. Las cosas son siempre más claro en retrospectiva , porque tenemos la historia completa, pero en el momento en que por lo general sólo tienen una pequeña parte de la historia y la base de nuestra decisión fuera de verdades a medias y apegos emocionales . The art of contemplation is lost.  When you are in the presence of a spiritual teacher and you ask a question keep this in mind: the answer will only be a detailed as your question.  Many times I have witnessed a student asking the same question to their teacher many times over, either in the same session or over a period of weeks.  This clearly show that they are not listening and have not taken time to contemplate what their teacher said and how it relates to them.  If you constantly seek answers outside yourself then you are no longer on your path.  We all must find our own answers, our own truths.  Teachers are here to guide you, not tell you every step to take.  To get the most out of a discussion with your spiritual teacher begin by contemplating on your own question, draw your conclusion, then ask your teacher their advice, and finally take that information back and contemplate that question again with the new information.  Spirituality and enlightenment cannot be given to you, it must be earn with self-work and study.
