“Come with your cup empty” has come to mean that you should be of an open mind, willing and ready to learn new things.
You can never come with a cup that is empty to anything but you can empty all the things that will stop you from learning. Your cup will have expectations, hope, excitement, and wishes for any class you join.
What you must empty from your cup is judgment, ego, skepticism, and the need to be the teacher rather than the student.
Bring your cup 4/5 empty of the roadblocks to learning and 1/5 filled with the positive attributes of a student.
